Between Newsfire and Songbird, I’m cumulatively subscribed to quite a few MP3 blogs. I like having my more favoured in Newsfire, as I check it more often - though it doesnt allow direct playback inside the program, and I’m growing to enjoy using Songbird less as less as its interface progressively gets more on my nerves.

So I happened on Peel this morning - a perfect mix of the qualities of both - with an iTunes-esque interface to boot. The program is essentially an RSS aggregator that compiles playlists from the active files on bookmarked MP3 blogs, and allows continuous playback or direct download into your iTunes library. It’s also currently free (whilst in beta), though I can see myself shelling out when its finished.

Nah, think it was TUAW. Great though, you used it?
I don’t believe you.
Whats not to believe?
Spending as much as a CD or LP on an aggregator with a play button.
You always have to find negativity! You’re turning into me!
i) You know whats on a CD when you buy it. MP3 blogs are different that way.
ii) It’s good, feature-full software - and although freeware does exist, its pretty much perfect for what I want.
iii) I can always just run the Beta permanently, and not upgrade.
