Future of Web Design

Regular trips to London to visit Sarah when she was at Uni there - then for short breaks and jaunts for gigs occasionally - have developed into a cliched love for the city. Coming from Belfast it’s not difficult - the sheer scale and even mere existence of creative energy (granted, it’s growing here) is enough to keep me popping back now and again - and on Wednesday that happens once again for Future of Web Design. I’ve deliberately booked a few extra days for some geek-heavy R&R as I head for the first time on my own.

As for the conference itself, I’m particularly excited about Patrick McNeil’s talk on “Print is the new Web“, Andy Budd speaking on “Designing the User Experience Curve“, Elliot Jay Stocks on “Drawing inspiration from Print Design” and Daniel Burka on “Evolving the User Experience” - as well as the associated free alcohol and smoozing with other design nerd-types. I was also previously unaware until typing this that Jon Hicks, Elliot Jay Stocks, Jina Bolton & Hannah Donovan are doing a live Photoshop battle after lunch - hopefully unexpectedly awesome events such as this should be plentiful.

I’ll be wandering around with my camera & iPhone - so expect regular activity on my Flickr and Twitter accounts.
